CIA Deputy Director Talks About Bitcoin (BTC) and Lists Its Benefits for the US!

Speaking to cryptocurrency analyst Anthony Pompliano, CIA Deputy Director Michael Ellis spoke about Bitcoin. Stating that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are permanent, Ellis also stated that they are useful for tracking enemies. Noting that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are beneficial to intelligence, Ellis said that more and more institutions are adopting crypto and that this is a great trend. Stating that their support as the CIA is not a whim but strategic, Ellis argued that Bitcoin is especially useful for payment transactions and can be used in payments. The deputy director of the CIA has highlighted the intersection of national security and cryptocurrency, stating that the US is “enormous in its use of cryptocurrency to monitor and disrupt the activities of its adversaries.” At this point, Ellis stated that he sees Bitcoin as part of the global technological competition and said that the US should stay ahead of China and this can happen with BTC and crypto. Ellis, who was appointed Deputy Director of the CIA in February 2025, served in the NSA, the National Security Council, and as a Navy Reserve Intelligence Officer before joining the CIA.
