US President Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial has embarked on yet another crypto buying spree. Yesterday it acquired $10M in $ETH, $10M in $WBTC, and $1.5M in $MOVE. Trump announced his World Liberty Financial venture – a community governance-based DeFi platform – in September last year. Trump is joined at the helm by his sons Eric, Donald Jr, and Barron, alongside a slew of co-founders. According to the project’s ‘gold paper’ (that’s a whitepaper to us regular folk), its aim is to ‘democratize access to financial opportunities while fortifying the global status of the US dollar.’ ‘To accomplish this goal, WLF strongly believes in supporting US dollar-based stablecoins and DeFi applications that seek to preserve the US Dollar’s status, ensuring it remains the global reserve currency for the next century.’ The $WLFI presale began in October, with the launch of the Ethereum-based ERC-20 token expected around mid-2025.
