This strong upward momentum helped the alpha crypto to break past the stubborn resistance at $10,000, eventually peaking above $12,000. However, BTC encountered resistance at this top and was stuck in a consolidation phase for multiple weeks before slumping under $10K in September 2020. The wintry freeze enveloped the crypto market for weeks, with some predicting at the time that the Bitcoin bull run had ended.
