The cryptocurrency market has been talking about Donald Trump's announcement that he added XRP, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) to his crypto reserves, in addition to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), since Sunday. While the addition of XRP, SOL and ADA to the reserve has drawn criticism from important names in the cryptocurrency industry, famous Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor, known for his support for Trump, also argues that Bitcoin should be the primary asset in the US strategic crypto reserve. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor stated that Bitcoin should be the primary focus of the reserve, saying that BTC is the only universally accepted digital asset with no issuer. “The important thing to keep in mind is that Bitcoin is the universally accepted underlying asset across the entire crypto economy because it is an asset with no issuer. It is neutral.” Should XRP Also Be Included? Speaking to Fox News, Saylor also shared his views on the US strategic reserve and the inclusion of Bitcoin and altcoins. When asked about XRP’s inclusion in the reserve, Saylor said that XRP is “very compelling and compelling,” noting that it is not a security but a crypto asset with issuers that provide digital utility. While Saylor argued that Bitcoin should be the focus for the reserve, he noted that the executive branch would decide whether other altcoins like XRP could be included in the reserve. “I see the emerging consensus in the industry is that Bitcoin should be a strategic reserve asset for the country in the long term. Given the opportunity to advise policymakers, my advice would be to create regulatory clarity regarding digital assets. “At this point I think XRP is a token and we should have a regulatory framework that allows them to be issued. But it would be smart to capitalize on an asset like Bitcoin that doesn't have a country, a company or an issuer.” The US Must Act First! Saylor noted that Bitcoin is a new type of asset that the US needs to secure before foreign competitors do. Saylor warned that the US could fall behind other countries in the Bitcoin and crypto space if it does not act now. Michael Saylor Will Also Attend the Grand Summit!
