Halliday Secures $20M Series A from Andreessen Horowitz to Develop AI Agents, Eliminating Need for Smart Contracts

Halliday, a company focused on developing AI agents for blockchain, has successfully raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz's crypto arm (a16z crypto). This funding follows a $6 million seed round in 2022, also led by a16z crypto, bringing the total funds raised to $26 million. Other investors in the Series A round include Avalanche Blizzard Fund, Credibly Neutral, Alt Layer, and SV Angel. The company, led by CEO Griffin Dunaif, aims to simplify blockchain development by allowing developers to delegate workflows to autonomous systems, eliminating the need to write smart contracts. Halliday's Agentic Workflow Protocol (AWP) is designed to create 'immutable guardrails' for AI agents, ensuring safe operations on blockchain networks. Halliday's technology has already been deployed with partners like DeFi Kingdoms, Core Wallet by Ava Labs, and ApeChain, enabling AI agents to automate complex processes such as treasury management and B2B transactions across multiple blockchain networks.
