Initially, Musk intended to name the initiative the Government Efficiency Commission but opted for the Department of Government Efficiency after public feedback. “I was going to call it the Government Efficiency Commission, but that’s a super boring name,” he remarked. Despite its coincidental acronym, the project has no ties to Dogecoin, a meme cryptocurrency Musk has frequently supported. He estimates this goal could be accomplished within 130 days, potentially ending his tenure by May.
