Metaplanet, a Tokyo-listed company, has increased its Bitcoin holdings to 5,000 BTC, valued at approximately $428.1 million, following the purchase of an additional 145 BTC for $13.6 million. The latest acquisition was made at an average price of $93,300 per Bitcoin. The total purchase amount for the recent buy was 20 billion yen, bringing the cumulative holding value to 641 billion yen. The company's CEO has publicly committed to acquiring an additional 5,000 BTC, aiming to become the leading Bitcoin holding company in Asia. This move aligns with Metaplanet's strategic goal to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025, having already achieved half of this target ahead of schedule. The funding for the latest Bitcoin purchase came from the issuance of zero-coupon bonds to EVO FUND, with plans to use proceeds from new share warrants to repay these bonds.
