According to on-chain data analyst Yu Jin, an unidentified whale or institutional investor purchased $15 million worth of AAVE tokens through algorithmic market maker Wintermute today. The investor in question first transferred 15 million USDC to Wintermute, then received 57,715 AAVE tokens into his wallet, representing a purchase price of approximately $259.9 per unit. Interestingly, the same investor sold 184.4 WBTC for approximately $20.4 million via Wintermute’s OTC (over-the-counter) service yesterday.
