Crypto Asset Management Firm CoinShares Announces Long-Term Bitcoin Price Forecast! Here Are the Details

Bitcoin (BTC) prices could rise to as high as $150,000 in 2025 and reach $250,000 in the long term, according to James Butterfill, Head of Research at crypto asset management firm CoinShares. CoinShares Predicts Bitcoin Could Reach $150,000 by 2025, Long-Term Target Is $250,000 Butterfill shared his views with CNBC, predicting that Bitcoin's price in 2025 will range between $80,000 and $150,000. Butterfill emphasized that in the long term, it is “not unreasonable” for Bitcoin’s market cap to rise from its current 10% gold market share to around 25%, which would equate to a price of $250,000 per Bitcoin. But Butterfill noted that such long-term milestones may not happen immediately. “While the timing is tough, I don’t expect it to happen until 2025, but the trajectory is clear,” he said. Butterfill believes that a favorable regulatory environment in the United States next year will be a major driver of Bitcoin’s price appreciation. He suggested that if BTC only reaches $80,000 in 2025, it could be due to unfulfilled pro-crypto policy promises by President-elect Donald Trump. CoinShares has a track record of accurate Bitcoin predictions. In 2023, the firm predicted that Bitcoin would reach $80,000 in 2024, which closely aligned with its lower-bound estimate for 2025. As Bitcoin continues to gain traction among institutional investors and benefits from increased regulatory clarity, Butterfill’s predictions highlight the cryptocurrency’s potential to challenge traditional assets like gold and expand its role as a cornerstone of the global financial system. *This is not investment advice.
