Public soon. — Sonic Labs (@SonicLabs) December 2, 2024 The blockchain is designed to reduce latency and transaction fees, and it has received support from the Fantom Foundation, a key contributor to Fantom’s decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem . Sonic also completed a “Snapshot” for its airdrop of 200 million “S” tokens on December 2. These tokens can be exchanged for Fantom’s native FTM tokens on a 1:1 basis. As the platform transitions to its mainnet launch, arcade games that allowed users to earn tokens have been discontinued. Sonic will operate on a proof-of-stake (PoS) mechanism , enabling “S” token holders to participate in staking. Circle, meanwhile, continues its global expansion, securing MiCA registration in Europe and meeting updated cryptocurrency regulations in Canada.
