Cardano Partners with Brazil's SERPRO to Boost Blockchain in Public Sector

The Cardano Foundation is partnering with Brazil's state-owned IT company , SERPRO, to bring blockchain technology to the country’s public sector, aiming to modernize its digital infrastructure. SERPRO, responsible for 90% of Brazil’s federal public administration, processes an impressive 33 billion transactions annually. This collaboration marks a significant step in promoting digital governance and blockchain adoption in the public sector. This alliance comes as Brazil continues to lead in digital governance, ranked second globally by the World Bank for its digital government maturity. SERPRO, with its vast technological infrastructure, will play a key role in integrating Cardano's blockchain technology into government systems. SERPRO’s technology manages over 750 digital solutions and handles a massive amount of data across several cloud platforms. The initiative, as outlined by Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, focuses not only on blockchain implementation but also on educating public sector employees through the Cardano Academy. The training programs will include masterclasses, technical workshops, and certification courses to ensure that SERPRO employees gain a deep understanding of blockchain and its potential benefits in governance. This education is key to ensuring the smooth integration of blockchain technology into Brazil's public sector. Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim, President of SERPRO, emphasized the transformative nature of the partnership, stating that combining SERPRO’s public sector expertise with Cardano’s blockchain infrastructure would place Brazil at the forefront of global digital governance transformation. This collaboration marks the first time that SERPRO has partnered with an international organization for educational initiatives, demonstrating the commitment to innovation within Brazil’s digital government framework. Additionally, this partnership builds on the Cardano Foundation’s expanding global presence. The Cardano network and its native token, ADA, recently gained attention after being included in President Trump’s proposed US crypto reserve. However, the token’s gains were short-lived, with the overall market seeing a dip after Trump’s executive order for a strategic Bitcoin reserve. Despite this, the partnership with SERPRO signals the Cardano Foundation’s growing influence and its role in shaping the future of blockchain in government. As the collaboration progresses, the focus on blockchain education is set to equip Brazil’s public sector workforce with the tools needed for a digital government revolution. By blending Cardano’s blockchain technology with SERPRO’s vast experience in public administration, Brazil is positioning itself to lead the way in digital innovation. The move is a crucial step forward in Cardano's vision of using blockchain to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public sector operations, benefiting millions of Brazilian citizens.
