Butterfill emphasized that in the long term, it is “not unreasonable” for Bitcoin’s market cap to rise from its current 10% gold market share to around 25%, which would equate to a price of $250,000 per Bitcoin. But Butterfill noted that such long-term milestones may not happen immediately. “While the timing is tough, I don’t expect it to happen until 2025, but the trajectory is clear,” he said. Butterfill believes that a favorable regulatory environment in the United States next year will be a major driver of Bitcoin’s price appreciation. He suggested that if BTC only reaches $80,000 in 2025, it could be due to unfulfilled pro-crypto policy promises by President-elect Donald Trump.
